Skilled and thoughtful players should be able to win, regardless of whether
they're a "veteran" or not. I don't see where it should be wrong for a new
player who really pays attention to strategy to beat the game. This isn't an
RPG that you drop when you get to the end-- after a hard-earned win, most of
us want to go back and start all over again with a new race/class combo.

I don't see this as any easy game, not in an overall sense. And IMO the worst
thing you could do is make it a member's only club-- if "newbies" don't feel
like they have a chance of beating the game, they're not going to stick around.
A victory shouldn't be handed to them, of course-- but it should be
attainable, however remote the possibility.

That's a pretty offensive comment. I'm not a "veteran", but I'm certainly not a
"newbie" either. Many of us who've played for years drift in and out of the
newsgroups as RL permits (I only happen to join in when I'm working a job with
a lot of downtime.) The fact that you don't recognize someone as a regular
doesn't make their opinion any less valid than yours.
