[YASD] Lesson learned

found a bloody pool, got some stat-increases and then a
"you feel depressed" message. assuming that would be a
bad thing I continue my path to the depths of the puppy-cave.
on the last level I enter with a rat, orc and sage, hide
in a corridor, as the puppy shows up. I switch position
since I only have half of my HP left, go to the opposite
end of the corridor, close the door in order to keep the
dark-blue F away from me, and suddenly the puppy is hit
by the sage's bolt: severly injured! ok, I switch position
again, and take up the fight. soon I too am hit by such
a bolt, HP down to 2. Hmmm, should I apply first aid or
pray? since I feel so depressed I do not trust my dodge
skills and decide for praying: The gods seem to ignore you!
and of course still in the same line I get informed that
I've just died with HP of -8. I was coward, with DV above
30 and PV around 6, but that didn't prevent the sage from
causing 10 damage in melee...

what a sad end for a gnomish paladin with Le and Ch at 20!
