Whoops I look like an idiot (again). From inl.org: "Fall 2002/Winter
2003 INL Playoffs". Then what does that imply? Insert reader's smart
ass answer here ________________________. "It implies you are in fact
an idiot." Ladies and gentleman -- I thank you again. Here is what I
mean: The coincidence being that colleges, universities, the world and
our existance thru time share the same timelines (unless you live in a
parallel universe or you travel near speed of light). Although the
precise dates of Fall/Winter/Spring/Summer and their corresponding
netrek league seasons' actual start and concluding dates have varied,
the labels we have used to chronologically count them are coincident.
With this correction, how can I go wrong? I am sure you can think of
something if you squeeze your brain real good. I will make this
concession: I am out of touch with things, but then again I realize
that and have made corrections for it. (As above).

Look all that said, when would you like to announce the closure of
public netrek servers, and the deletion of netrek binaries, source
code, cvs repositories, web sites, RSA borg preventing
technologies/algorithms, and all the memories? In these lines let us
tell everyone to go away, and do something else for god's sake. Look
the bingo newsgroup is thriving!

To the casual reader and outsiders I offer the following explanations
as to why we have no netrek league this season. Except for Tom the
high clue that form the better netrek play are an odd bunch if you get
the chance to meet them or talk with them in msgs, in person, etc.
They retire quickly, are cranky, and are quick to offer insults.
However we do recognize that they themselves are highly evolved
monkeys in the race against time, so we must accept and acknowledge
that as part of their behaviors (even if they sit upon INL Councils).
To be sure we have no time for games. I can stand by that statement as
well as anyone else. I myself have more procreating to do, as well as
issues arising out of a mounting inbox pile.

I can offer some sympathy to Tom in that organizing the league can be
a tedious task, having directed one draft league in my lifetime. I can
say from experience that I was completely exhausted in the end from
all the bookkeeping, follow up posts, mailing list maintenance,
dispute resolution, and general bottom patting that is required to
silence whiners, howlers, rambocombos, and the like and keep a
functional league going. One single suggestion I can offer is ask for
assistance and run the league by proxy or designation (as in
designated driver, as in after being too tanked on booze yerself to
take the steering wheel).

Tom is a good guy, and should not be attacked. Therefore my offer
still stands to him for a healthy pitcher of beer when I can next
arrange a visit to Bezerkely.
