Re: MAPPING

Dave,
I would recommend zMud, if you are running a windows based system.
It has a very good built-in mapping program. Or you can opt for the stand-alone product zMapper.

If you also play Asheron's Call, there is a compatible mapping product
called zExplorer.

The site is http://www.zuggsoft.com

If you are running a *nix based OS, try running the products under WINE.

Not sure what other products are out there for mud based mapping.

Enjoy Bob

Ok i build for a MUD where you have to hand draw your character
maps...HARD work..Any softwar that would make drawing a map (outside
the mud) and copy/pasting into the description or something?

Thanks in advance

Back in MY day, we didn't have no fancy computers to draw maps for us, we had to go get sharp rocks and carve maps into the desktops in the computer labs! Most of the grad students got mad when we had to start piling desks on top of each other because of the non-euclidean maps in FesterMUD... but it got better when we added the straps so they could still use their chairs at a 67-degree angle.

Seriously though, how little time do you put into your area designs that you can't draw them out on graph paper? If you must have it online, try drawing it on graph paper and scanning it in. If you've already built the world without drawing it first (naughty!), you might want to write something fancy that will output POV-Ray scene descriptions as well.

Failing that, yeah, zMUD or something like it would probably work. :)
