Do you mean in the general or specific sense?

In general, I'd think it would depend largely on how many dropships the
planet recieves.  However, a planet's atmosphere is also rather a large body
to change.  Unscientifically, I'd say it's possible, but not likely.

In specific, yes.  They dropships are floating down on a superheated column
of air; ISTR that dropship landings are described as being rather rough, a
side-effect of the main thruster.  (I think the main engines provide lift,
with the maneuvering thrusters acting to keep the DS from falling over or
drifting.)
