Wow, it's been three years? Well, here is a quick and dirty version. Fasa
closed down and BattleTech was taken over by Jordan Weisman (a Fasa founder)
and WizKids. BattleTech has become "Classic Battletech" and is being run by
FanPro (most of the the staff is old Fasa though). At the current time the Clan
Invasion has been stopped and the Federated Commonwealth had a Civil
War.Katherine vs Victor and anyone who could think for themselves. Victor and
Co won but the stress of it destroyed Fed Com wich has split into two different
realms again. Katherine was taken by Clan Wolf as she was about to be put in
prison for life by CWiE. Victor is back as head of Comstar's military and Yvone
is Regent in FS and Peter is Archon. Both arre trying to get their realms to
recover and for the most part they are not hostile towards each other. At same
time Omi Kurita was killed (on Katherines orders) and the Combine went to war
with the Ghost Bears becasue of the Black Dragons. Right now is is 3067 and all
hell is about to break loose in a war that makes the Fed Com Civil war look
like a walk in the park. 
And this brings us back to WizKids. WizKids has created a new BattleTech games
called "Mechwarrior: Dark Age". This is a collectable minatures/figures game
(similar to their other games) and they have kicked the time line up a bunch of
years (Its now 3134). What happend in the intervening years has only partialy
been reveled, but the Word of Blake made their great play for power in what is
called "The Word of Blake Jihad". The WoB went totaly nuts and used massive
amounts of nuclear, chemical and bio weapons smashing cities and military
bases, manufactureing in a war of chaos and terror. The WoB had a lot of allies
and helpers from parts of the FWL military to pirates and a large number of
Mercs to minor nobles looking to get ahead. The war was so bad even the Clans
got involved and helped out the Inner Sphere. The person who had a big hand in
the defeat of the WoB was a man named Devlin Stone. We don't know who he is,
but we do know that he was a victim of the WoB's brainwashing program who
managed to break free and start a rebellion. After the WoB where put down Stone
basically took over the area the old Terran Hegemony had once rulled and called
it the "Republic of the Sphere". Most of the Houses more or less willingly gave
up territory for it (and it was a real mess with all the nukes going off around
in it) The only ones that didn't like it was Liao (some very interesing hints
on old Sunny boy!) and the Free Worlds League. Or we should say FORMER FWL as
the Jihad did it in. Tech in the IS was not declined but here are not many
mechs around not owned by the govt or military. Many where bought back (Think a
modern gun buy back) and military production scaled back. (The Peace
dividend).Things where ok if not great in the RotS until a short time ago when
someone unknown (lots of theories) took down 80% of the HPG's in the WHOLE
Inner Sphere. Old fueds started to boil over again and the RotS had a number of
differetn factions form, each with their own agenda. So basicaly the RotS is
trying to keep it's head above water while these factions duke it out and House
Lioa attacks. We have only limited info on the rest of the IS and Invading
Clans but we do have some. Of the Home Clans we have nothing and the inference
is that even the IS Clans don't really know what's going on.
 Some people detest the Dark Age and the "clicktech" others don't mind and some
love it. There where a lot of complaints about the story, but as facts come
out, its fits the BT Universe rather well (I think at least).
