Perhaps it is refreshing to learn that Asians can be racists, too.

In some circles, having an "attitude" makes things worse.
There are (at least) two -approaches- to playing Go, namely
"have fun" and "get strong." Your -advice- about learning, or
what should occur from a "go teacher" applies -chiefly- to the
latter category. There are recreational players of Go. They are
sometimes participants on a newsgroup marked as recreational.
