The usual Hex board pattern consists of regular hexagons, like a beehive. Here is a POV-Ray image of a 19x19 Hex board consisting of a grid of triangles, where players place their stones on the intersections, as in Go. http://www.geocities.com/twixtplayer/hexboard.gif This is a large image, 1600x1200. I modified someone else's source code for a Go board to make this. My hope is that this might arouse some interest and curiosity in the game among Go players. I suppose you could play Go on such a board, but whether that would be an improvement or not is highly debatable. "Ko" positions could not arise, for example. But Hex is the game to try.
