More to the point, it models certain sorts of heroes in certain sorts
of settings.

It fails to model at least one majorly important character (he tried, and almost succeeded at it, to kill the goddess of evil and take her place, for crying out loud!) of an actual D&D setting.


It's just completely ridiculous.

Nevermind that none of the D&D fiction I've ever read actually had magic that worked the same way as the AD&D or D&D rules says it works - at what point should not put one's foot own and shiout "This is too much!"?
