Yes, because you would incorporate the standard feats that all characters get (at every 3 levels*) directly in the classes. If you don't eliminate multiclassing, you end up handing out those feats at the wrong times. (i.e. since you get one at first level, one could easily cherry pick every first level class to get a ton of extra abilities.) * I think it's 1 every 3. It's not in the SRD, and I'm so used to PCGen et. al. just telling me "you have a feat to spend" I've forgotten.
