Re: [D20 General] How would you design a [blank] campaign?

Well, to be frank, I'm a bit of a rules minimalist. Particularly when I'm
going
for a 'quick and fast' feel, such as with the pulps, or Star Wars, etc. I
want
to keep things going. The rule detail in d20 modern is just too slow, too
focused on the old 'grognard' idea.

And it's with character generation as well. "Follow these 20 paths to get
your skills, etc..." When all that could have been done much more simply.
I just think that, for the 'pulp' feel in particular, d20 Modern takes
itself
far too seriously as a 'real-style' system... that's neither 'real' nor
'easy'
enough for the job.
