One of house rules our local group uses is that the defender's defense is lowered by 1 for every 2 pts that the attacker succeeded by (after adjustments for hit location, etc). The attacker still has to make a successful attack roll, however. Seems to work well in avoiding the infinite parries problem.
Now this one catches my eye. What do others think of it?
