Yes. You use the 2nd edition values without altering them. ;)

For converting from 1st edition damage to 2nd (or 3rd) edition...well,
first try to find a comparable weapon. If you have a 1st edition Heavy
Pistol, find a 2nd or 3rd edition Heavy Pistol. They (usually) have
the same damage despite different model names.
