[PBeM opening] D&D 3rd Ed Ravenloft: Phantoms of Ravenloft

Welcome, do come in, it is such a pleasure to see a stranger coming to
our door, for some reason people appear to shy away from our humble
abode... yes... foolish superstitious peasants, but do enter Sir, and
pay no attention to strange sounds, it's only the wind I am sure.

Phantoms of Ravenloft is a 3rd Edition Dungeons and Dragons game set in
the Ravenloft Campaign Setting, and I do endeavour to be reasonably
canonical, or at least the world will appear canonical, though I may
make some small changes here and there.

The world of Gothic Horror, or Dark Renaissance, take your pick, it is
definitely Ravenloft though I am also inspired by Warhammer Fantasy
Roleplay. The grime is still there, it is not clean or hygienic. Despite
this the heroes, even if they are plagued and tormented, are still
heroic, even if they hesitate they should still do the right thing, and
their heroism rings all the more true because of the corruption around
them.

This is definitely an adult game, in the true sense of the word that you
should be mature to play. Though sexual encounters and violence
certainly occur they are not the focus of the game, there will be
romance and there will be fights, but the sexual encounters in general
take place behind closed doors, and the violence will as a rule serve a
good purpose.

There will hopefully be a mixture of romance, good fights, sorcery,
mystery, and horror, and above all I hope that this will be an enjoyable
experience.
