Hi Mark, "Mark Stokje" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote in message > Another completely different issue here. When I read that victory declaration, I expected moral outrage, I heartily agree with your sentiment -- it was pretty galling to me as well. My CUNTS commentary, while sarcastic in nature was, in truth, pretty precise in how I felt. I find it interesting that I was berated more for whinging about the size of the winning group than people were for, oh say, taking advantage of "accidental" updates to glean intelligence on enemies. In fact, I fully expected Mithrilien to bounce this "alliance" back in disgust over the fact that *20%* of the starting nations declare victory (Yes, 10% were the "principals" and the other 10% were the "honoraries" but the point is the same). I couldn't imagine that this was what he conceived or anticipated when putting together LOTR. > I truely found this to be the most disapointing aspect of Empire to date. And that's definitely a worry. For new players to experience this level of disappointment after significant investment of effort, well.... However, I think most people will jump on you and simply say that "If you don't like it, you should only join a game that has victory conditions which will make you happy defined before hand". > And even as a newbie, I'm forced to ask myself, Why did this happen? > Are we all to friendly? What's the answer, why don't these > four nations go for all the glory? There's a whole barrel of entertaining responses I could make... instead I'll refrain and let Markus, Plundaria, Byz, Rook, Mongol, Whabit, Ice, Ski and the other 4-6 players involved in ACNE respond. My personal solution? Middle Earth nukes. ;) Mr. Ed
