Step 2: In kitchen of castle, replace bread on plate with your bread. But if you do it early enough that you don't actually lose that much Karma, then you can't complete the game (because of Yew, maybe the Abyss, etc.), and if you do it late enough that it doesn't matter if he dies, then you don't have enough time and opportunity to rebuild your Karma.
