J RC4 patch

I just recently started getting into Stars! again, and in particular, 
this is the first time that I've looked to play online with it. Now, my 
question is, what is the j RC4 patch that is used by autohost? Do I have 
to use that as my client as well? And what changes are there between i 
and j? Also, is there any way to use J RC4 with the Retail Version? Or 
do I just download the shareware version and use my retail code with it?
