Nice name. I don't know if I can run it, though. Have to take another look at that Fusion thing. >>> - bots only, this line sucks for anything more than browsing - >> >>It's apparently rather impossible to find Team Arena servers anyway; >>it never really caught on, for some reason. > > Weird. Sometimes, my team gets run over unless I really make an effort, but on others, both my team and the enemy are completely hopeless. It seems to depend mostly on the kind of game you run rather than the level. You should try the Unreal Tournament 2003 demo if you haven't. I thought it was fairly impressive. It runs well enough on my 32mb. GF2 MX, but that's probably the lower limit. Battlefield 1942 is also quite nice, but teamwork mostly happens because the bots get killed, spawn at the same time and then attack en masse. That doesn't stop it from being rather fascinating, though (I'm actually considering buying it and attempting to play online; the alt.games.bf1942 people are running some servers that seem nice because there's (almost) no cheating and everything is focused on teamwork). >>It sounds like pretty much all the games suck due to cheaters or morons >>or both. > > Yeah, so I've heard. The question just is why you would want to play with people who have to be forced to play properly. >>Also, http://www.planetquake.com/polycount/ >>IIRC, there are quite a few Doom models for Q3. The tarantula models (those made by the people who made that mutant spider horror movie a while ago) are kind of fun, BTW. Nothing like having a bloody big spider run after you with a rocket launcher. They don't work well on most levels, though; the legs go through walls and make them look stupid rather than scary. > Man, it's like they DON'T want you to download. I don't think they do (unless you're a paying subscriber). > Though I've never seen this "head models" category before.... > > But isn't there a fileplanet ID floating around out there? No doubt, but it's too annoying for even that, I think. The big problem is that there are a lot of files you can't get anywhere else. But sometimes you can find them via the various FTP searches or http://ftp.sunet.se's search engine. There's also something people refer to as 'filemirrors', but I can never remember the URL for that. >>As I understand it, you can set some sort of 'priority zones' for the bots >>when you edit levels (or when you make bot routes, perhaps), so maybe that >>was the only zone in the level. > > I don't think so.
