Salmon played 2 games which I feel are very nice in crushing Szabo in the Birmingham 1858 tournament. He then apparently lost 2-0 to Owen, but where are the games? I would like to see them; they are not in the Oxford book.
They're in Oxford Encyclopedia of Chess Games, p. 250. The index of that book seems quite unreliable.
Salmon,G - Szabó,G Birmingham, 24.07.1858 [probably misprint for 24.08]
1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 d6 3.d4 f5 4.dxe5 fxe4 5.Ng5 d5 6.e6 Bc5 7.Nxe4 dxe4 8.Qh5+ g6 9.Qxc5 Bxe6 10.Qe5 Qf6 11.Qxe4 Nc6 12.Bc4 Kf7 13.0-0 Re8 14.Nc3 Nge7 15.Nb5 Rc8 16.Bf4 Bxc4 17.Qxc4+ Kg7 18.Nxc7 h6 19.Bd2 Nd4 20.Qxd4 Qxd4 21.Ne6+ 1-0
(Source is claimed to be M324-1865, and so should belong to the Murray collection at Oxford. But it's not stated just what M324 refers to, as far as I can find. Staunton seems to have annotated the game in Illustrated London News in 1865. All the scores in OECG are from several different sources.)
