Re: Response to ICGA open letter

I am a life-long New Yorker, and, sadly, from the course of observing approximately 20 million people on a daily basis over a life-span, I can assure you that there is no law against being stupid.
Laws against stupidity are as impractical to enforce say as changing the speed of light or Planck's Constant. In a metro area of 20 million people, about 10 million of them are going to stupider than the other ten million. That's alot of stupid. The biggest waste of time in fact are the stupid people who call other stupid people stupid. It is much like shouting at the sky that it is dark and then to feel accomplishment when morning comes. Most Stupid people who call others stupid act out of fear of being detected as stupid themselves. And the smart ones are too busy and smart to get involved in this.
Also if you really believe some idiotic internet newsgroup post has critically damaged Fritz Reul's reputation, then make your case for that and don't just assume that it is so because the event is disgusting.

I am shocked that a troll twisted your nuts so effectively.

I would not be shocked.....
Suppose I am Fritz Reul, and suppose I know I am not guilty, then I see that
letter.... Troll or not, that could negatively influence my reputation and
it is therefore libellous. Do it on a magazine or newspaper and you will be
sued, do it on a NG and that is *unfortunately* usually tolerated. That
should not! That is a stupid action that could harm somebody's reputation
and there should be legal means to prevent that more effectively.
