Your petty insults on this newsgroup are not unethical. Were you to use similar insults in a tournament setting they would be. However, it is faintly possible that you know the laws of bridge and would be wise enough to refrain from such insults while bound by them. It is also possible that you are incapable of understanding the laws and think that insulting/assaulting people is permitted. Again your insults would not be unethical since you would not know you were deliberately breaking the laws. From what you have said I consider it entirely possible that the Sieberts were unaware that the laws applied when the incident occurred and thus they did not act unethically. As to your distinction between "conduct" and "ethics", conduct is about *doing* right/wrong, ethics is about *knowing* whether what you are doing is right/wrong. Simple enough for you?
