You're (at best) misinformed about OKBridge's history. The point at which OKBridge started charging fees was when it moved from the university servers, where you could play for free but only if you had (or could telnet into) a Unix box, to Matt's own servers and using his own bandwidth. This was the point at which people like myself, who had only a Windows PC and no access to a Unix box, were able to start playing on OKBridge. The big boom in OKB's popularity came *after* it started charging, because getting their own hardware and connectivity greatly increased the pool of potential members. Brian.
