One minute per move is plenty of time. With the proper machine you could make a little rollout.

I've suspected it a lot on FIBS because often the opponents play slows
way down and they seem to start playing a lot better.
Well, people may actually play better when they think longer.
The one BIG thing I didn't like is that there is no rating system

so you
don't know if you are being invited to play against a grand master or
someone just starting.
Oh, good thinking.
Summing up, do not play online for more money than you would be willing to give away to the next beggar.
