With only a minute to make your move I don't see how people would have
time to input the opponents moves into Snowie, Jellyfish, or gnubg and
wait for it to analyse and show them the best move.

One minute per move is plenty of time. With the proper machine you could make a little rollout.

Perhaps they could.

Indeed.

I've suspected it a lot on FIBS because often the opponents play slows
way down and they seem to start playing a lot better.

Well, people may actually play better when they think longer.

The one BIG thing I didn't like is that there is no rating system

Guess why ...

so you
don't know if you are being invited to play against a grand master or
someone just starting.

Oh, good thinking.

Summing up, do not play online for more money than you would be willing to give away
to the next beggar.

Regards, Peter

Ha, I don't play online for money at all .. nor do I play offline for money. I may be dumb but I'm not stupid.
