a lesson in screwing up a good handicap

Monday night I decided I would think long and hard and make a good bet
on the Ten/NYJ game. I decide that I think the Jets are going to win
by about 7. Then I decide the final score will be 27-20 Jets. (It was
21-14 Jets). I picked Jets to win by 5-9 points at a price of +800 (if
it wasn't more, I don't remember). Then for some reason I decide to
parlay it with an o/u pick. Of course I used SIA and their o/u line
was at about 43 if I remember correctly. So I missed like a 17/1
payout by 3 points on the o/u. If I had checked out everybody else's
over/under lines I probably would have decided 43 was too high and
just went with the margin of victory bet, but I got in a hurry.
