First, is it felt or nylon?  I really like the brushed nylon surfaces,
they feel great and they're very stain resistant.  It's hard for me to
tell the difference by feel.  Perhaps there's a tag somewhere.

Second, Scotchgard was removed from the market by 3M two years ago.
Is it back on the market?  Didn't it cause birth defects or something?
Be careful what you might use, as the "cure" for stains might be worse
than the disease.
