COLLEGE FOOTBALL -- November 22

NORTHWESTERN at ILLINOIS -- Five turnovers were Northwestern's undoing
in last year's 31-24 loss. Revenge is in order, and it's a good time
to get it. Illinois has failed to cover the number in seven Big Ten
outings this season, and the Illini defense has been lacking (4.5 ypc
allowed) - and they've now turned to so-so senior Dustin Ward to
generate some offense. This game can make Northwestern bowl-eligible.
The Wildcats seem to have three more tailbacks than Illinois, which is
averaging 13 ppg against Division I opposition, and has not been on
the positive side of the turnover ledger against any opponent other
than Illinois State. THE PLAY: NORTHWESTERN ***

LSU at OLE MISS -- The Rebels have two weeks to prepare for this one.
Ole Miss yields only 3.1 yards per carry. And Eli Manning having a
Heisman-like season (23 TD, 8 INT). But LSU more than equal to the
task. Tigers surrendering just nine points a game, and have yet to
allow 20 points to any team. Matt Mauck (21 TD's, 8 INT) is capable of
exploiting Ole Miss' secondary to some extent. And Manning will have a
very difficult time finding balance in his offense against an LSU
front allowing just 2.3 ypc. THE PLAY: LSU ***
