A martingale is never good. Not in Roulette not in Blackjack. Waiting for a special event and then betting a martingale doesn't make much of a difference - it basically means that you wait longer until you bet and it will take longer until the martingale fails. I am not a big fan of 'increase your bet when you are losing' - if you really want to use a progression in blackjack -use some positive progression like the Guetting progression.
