What I mean is, it's a matter of evolution. In a million years,
the animal-based diet will no longer be harmful.

In a million years, the "meat" people eat might not come from animals. By then, nanotechnologists might have figured out how to synthesize apparently authentic meat from vegetable matter or even other raw materials.

Us meat-eaters
will have evolved. The decendants of the vegetarians will only
be found in reservations, zoos and museums... Now, on which side
of the fence would you want your descendants to be?

Besides, would you really want us humans to lose the position of
being at the top of the food chain? It's a kill or be killed
world we live in. If we're not on top, I wouldn't feel safe.
