This is my knowledge of soymilk Traditionally in Asia you make soymilk by cooking the soybeans and then extracting the juice out of the beans. I guess it is similar to extracting juice out of an orange. Your left with a liquid without many dietary fibers, the fiber is left inside the beans. Be aware that you’re not getting any of the dietary fibers that you would normally get if you were eating boiled soybeans. Soymilk is a great food but bear in mind that it’s a lot easier to consume calories if you’re drinking as oppose to eating. It’s still a popular drink in South East Asian communities, but I don’t know many people who consume it like Cola. By the way soymilk on its own requires great effort to drink for the average Joe, it’s not the most palatable drink in the world. This is probably why you see, syrup, sugar or oil as some of the extra “flavors” on soymilk.
