C and W is well documented as a popular vacation food for 18th and 19th century Philadelphians traveling out into the country along Wissahickon Creek. What isn't well documented is waht it WAS: fried, creamed, grilled fish? on the waffles? next to them? as a separate course? I promised to research this for a lecture series about the Wissahickon, so actual references would be useful, but not essential. Really, any info would be welcome. THANKS!
