In the past that was true, but now having both programs is
considered redundant by those who "know" (I have both).
Apparently AdAware has evolved to the point where users on a
Win98 newsgroup say that AdAware is all you need (the
updates are more up to date).

You should also find a good registry "cleaner" if you have
any problems with leftover dlls and so forth in your
registry after deleting programs via Add/Remove.  AdAware is
supposed to remove all registry entries for spybots, but you
can never be too sure.
