SAMe did lift my moderate depression on several ocassions. I usually
only take it while going through something stressful. The downside
effect is anxiety. I have noticed it creep up on me if I take it for
more than a few months without cycling off. My gilfriend was on
wellbutrin due to clinical depression. It helped her moderately yet
she was always in a melancholic, flat type of mood. Upon trying SAMe,
much to her surprise, her mood gradually improved. There is just no
desire to despair as she puts it. Before it, she'd just get into very
depressed moods for no apparent reason, get cry spells. Not any
longer, I am a witness to that. So, make your own conclusions. There
is plenty of research out there as well as books on this substance.
Many ailments are clinically treated with SAMe in Europe. In America
of course, they prefer to keep you well drugged and sick, more
profitable apparently. Good Luck!
