I also have a computerized machine, and the automatic one step buttonhole ONLY works with the machine's own foot, because it contains an electronic sensor. One of my previous machines was fine with generic feet (the Viscount) and another (Frister & Rossmann Cub 8) needed a F&R Cub 8 specific foot because it used special plastic guides to form the buttonholes, and the foot needed to fit the guides... Best thing to do is to see if you can get the right foot for that make and model... Elna are a good make, and the foot is likely to be a bit more expensive than a generic foot, but better made. You may find it's one of those feet you pop the button into and it makes the hole the right size; take a good look through the manual, if you have it. There may be a parts diagrame with a part number, which would make it easy to order a new one. -- Kate XXXXXX Lady Catherine, Wardrobe Mistress of the Chocolate Buttons http://www.diceyhome.free-online.co.uk Click on Kate's Pages and explore!
