I have always used a cotton polyester blend for most of my quilts. As for
filling, if you are hand quilting it is recommended to use the poly fiber
batting, but if you are machine quilting use the 100% cotton batting. Scraps
for patches always makes a nice personal touch and sentiment to your quilts.
I will soon be working on a memory quilt for a neighbor who lost a sister in
a car accident. I will be using her sister's clothes.
