OT: Help with computer Monitor Display

Does anyone know how to adjust the Display Properties for the monitor?
Yesterday my computer decided to change ITSELF to 640x480 16 color and I can't
make it change back to what it was. The bar that is supposed to slide to change
the settings won't respond at all. If anyone can help I will be forever in
their debt.
