I have been thinking the same things Porro, that stained glass would be wonderful made from poly. My take on it is to make canes with lots of tinted translucent, then use them to cover clear glass ornament balls. I have done this and they are very pretty. How about taking a bunch of them, put those tiny micro lights inside them and display them in a big glass bowl? For stained glass pictures try using google, images, and the keywords stained glass, or stained glass window.
