The originator of the thread did not mention what it is being painted, but here's another idea. Use clear (transparent) low-tack self-stick shelving paper, applied to the object or surface to be painted. Then you can use acrylic artist paint, water-base house paint, or whatever will work and simply strip the shelving paper later when the painting is to be removed. Clean and simple if the surface to be painted is suited to this method.
