Re: Coverdisk CD art

Hi, I remember reading about a website in a magazine that told you how to

I've got about 80 of these CDs and would like to build something out of
them.

Try googling for "CD crafts." You'll get a ton of hits. Some of the stuff is on the tacky side, but I suppose that's in the eye of the beholder. I've seen some attractive jewelry (pins, etc.) made out of cut-up pieces of CD with faux jewels glued on, and somewhere I saw a charming set of scenes using miniature buildings, trees and figures - purchased or made from poly clay - glued to CD bases and incorporating the reflective surfaces as "ponds", etc.

I keep a stack of CDs in my studio to use as disposable palettes for acrylic paint. Very handy - the hole makes it easy to hold while you're painting - and reusable (any paint left over after the project can be peeled right off when it's dry).
