Twenty-two percent is extremely high.  I once made a mead that was
about twenty percent, but that was with a little frost distillation
(or whatever that's called).

How much honey did you use (in what size batch)?  For a five gallon
batch, you would need about thirty pounds of honey; this would mean
that your batch would consist of one part water and one part honey.
