Hey guys, I am planning on brewing a vienna lager in the near future. In anticipation, I bought a sack of vienna malt... but on reading DGB, I see that no-one uses 100% (or even 50%) vienna in a vienna! This is a bit counter-intuitive for me, seeing as many great bocks are made with 50%+ munich malt.
So has anyone made a large % vienna malt vienna lager? How did it turn
out?
My marzen has 59.1% Vienna, 59.5% Munich and 11.4% Crystal 20L. Mmmmmmmmm......
It came in a close second at a recent party to my dry hopped APA.
