Stones up to a couple of inches in size and shale slopes also qualify. Shale slopes containing material an inch or so in thickness and up to eight inches in length are a real bitch to climb. There is a famous scree slope just outside Canmore, Alberta that is mostly fine rock. It's famous because it's such a delight to descend. All who try it rave about it. Cheers, Lech
