Finally I got one blue jay visiting the feeder (on Black Friday Morning), but(s)he is not very regular. I see finches(?) are hovering over my neighbougs backyard trees, but they have no feeder in their backyard. Still the feeder is not used as much as I thought. In 2 weeks not even an inch of bird seeds used. I have several tall maple trees (some are 30-40' tall), around a dozen pine trees and seveal kind of shrubs. Also there is a big dog (he is not very good in chasing squirrels). Weekend I see hawks and crows flying in the horizon. At nights I hear occational owl hooting (I love to hear that again) and my garden some times raided by mole(s). My feed may not be new. It might be a year old. But I stored them in 3 or 4 air-tight peanut butter jars (after washing and drying). Iam planning to setup a birdbath and make a blue bird house. Sam > > I'm stumped.
