the plans for the bike would be free .. you'd have to source the tubes and
do the welding yourself.  the INSTALL directions would be either superb or
utterly lacking but in any event you wouldn't bother reading them until you'd
completely botched your first attempt.  iteration 2 would be ok, and the
3rd try would be passable.  after your bike was assembled you'd be ok since
there'd be lots of newsgroups and support and stuff.

of course, god help you in getting any fixes you may have past the benevolent
dictator (minder of the CVS repository) and incorporated into the bike plans.

microsoft would give you the bike for free and ream you on the yearly
component upgrades.  15-speed in no time!  so sorry, no 9sp cassettes any
more:  time to upgrade.
