Yes bears are your major concern in the Daks.  A dog makes a great bear
alarm.  On the other hand you wouldn't want it on a leash in case it had
to defend itself.  So I'd say keep it inside the tent.  Perhaps bring a
sacrificial toy poodle along and tie it up under your bear bag.
