I found no such data exchange feature with Maptech, and from playing with the demo I'm not even sure you can. The mapxchange site and the 3d view were the two biggest differences between the two that I saw. As someone else said, the rest is kind of personal preference. You can download a demo from Maptech, but not Topo. You can, however, download the update (which you should do if you get Topo anyway) to be able to play with the interface and see what it's like. There won't be any underlying maps, but at least you will be able to see the interface, tools, options, etc, so it's *almost* like a demo. : )
