This site here lists 5000 feet as the runway length.  Can that be
accurate?  That's a long runway for 1927 I would gather.  And dirt, no
less...

This next site was a very interesting read (I live on Long Island so
the history lesson was fabulous!), but doesn't provide much
information on the 1920's circa Roosevelt Field.  It does, however,
mention something I did not know - that the latter day Roosevelt Field
was not the same Roosevelt Field that Lindbergh used!
