But accurate.  

Even a large conventional explosive will just make a big crater and 
destroy a few cars, but a few thousand gallons of napalm spread over a 
wide area will catch the ties on fire, and once they're gone, it takes a 
*lot* more work to replace them.  And if you catch the ties on fire, the 
heat can often ruin the accompanying rails.

Explosives make holes.  Fires make larger fires.
