Back when I was nine we had two pit bulls (mother/son). The breeder (family friend) had given us one of his females (another pit) that was ready to give birth with the plans for us to sell the pups for him (he lived in kind of a remote area at the time and we lived in suburbia). Anyway, she gave birth and everything was fine until my brother walked through the gate into the backyard one day. Apparently she did not recognize him with a baseball cap on (close as we could figure) and went charging across the yard at him (protecting pups). Our little female (30 lb) saw it, and intercepted her about half way there. Thankfully it wasn't our male out there, being 69 lb. and very protective. Well, it wasn't pretty. Several of the neighbors came over (they were making a racket) and finally got them apart by shoving a garden hose down one of their throats (it was turned on). They both survived (the visiting female did get pretty well torn up) but needless to say she couldn't stay. The puppies were about 2 weeks old at the time so out came the bottles. It was basically an around the clock operation with the four of us taking our turns. We all had little puppy dog scratches on ours arms for a long time:-). > > BTW, why is it that guys will take any subject and turn it into a female > body part? ;) Because we are guys? I could have asked if the tails tickled on the way out but I refrained:-) Gerg -- My Ride http://www.southwestcruizers.com/Gregs33/index.html
