AUSV8SS: Team Betta Electrical signs Max Wilson

Triple Eight Race Engineering managing director Roland Dane announced today
the signing of Max Wilson to drive alongside Paul Radisich for the 2004
season Ford Falcon 'Team Betta Electrical' V8 Supercar Team.

"We welcome Max on board and look forward to the 2004 season with great
enthusiasm" - said Dane.

"Max has only experienced two seasons in V8 Supercars to date, but has more
than proved his speed and we consider the best of his talent is yet to
come".

"We hope to give Max a very competitive race car, so that he is in a
position to show his true skills on each circuit within the series" - Dane
commented.

Wilson campaigned as a driver with Team Betta Electrical in his
introductory year of V8 Supercars during the 2002 season, showing his
ability in both qualifying and shootouts.

Now with a second season under his belt, he is primed to make his mark on
the series during 2004 after finishing the 2003 season on the podium at
Eastern Creek with fellow Ford outfit Dick Johnson Racing.

"I couldn't be happier" - said Wilson, "It's almost like coming home and
I'm also very pleased to be staying with the Ford family.

"Team Betta Electrical gave me my start in V8 Supercars two years ago and
in that time I have learned a lot about the cars, the race formats, other
competitors driving styles and now I know I'm better equipped to be a front
runner for the team in next years series" - said Wilson.

"Triple Eight Race Engineering has a long history of success in touring car
racing in Europe and I'm confident they can provide me with a winning BA
Ford Falcon of their own design for 2004".

"This opportunity will allow me to further display my true ability in
mastering these cars and try to obtain top results for the team, I can't
wait to work with the experienced team at Triple Eight Race Engineering" -
Wilson concluded.

Wilson will join Paul Radisich as team drivers for the 2004 V8 Supercar
season, with Dean Canto retained as the teams third driver for both
endurance events and certain testing commitments.

Questioned on this Roland Dane said -"Dean Canto has experienced
fluctuations in results this season, as have many other drivers within the
series and should Dean receive the offer of a full time drive for next
season we certainly wouldn't stand in his way to prevent that happening. He
has been an asset to the team and we wish him well with which ever
direction he chooses to further his career".

"However we hope that Dean can continue to assist us with our assault on
both the 'Betta Electrical Sandown 500' and the 'Bathurst 1000' long
distance events, both very major events in the series and for the team" -
Dane concluded.
