One thing all you IRL-can-do-nothing-wrong-and-I-hate-all-things-CART never get is that the IRL wasn't formed to "solve" anything. With the heroic notion of bringing America's short track drivers back to "the road to Indy," Tony could've set up a sponsorship for a few deserving drivers - sort of a "scholarship" or award for achievement in a ladder system. (Iian mentions that specific idea in his post, and it's a far more original thought than tj's continued search for flaws in CART). It seems you're so desperate to prop up whatever you'd call the current IRL and the creaking (it won't go away, but I doubt it will ever be the same) Indy 500, all you can do is jump on CART. CART wouldn't have the problems it has today if the IRL hadn't been formed, and neither would Indy. Now go enjoy your factory teams, engine manufacturers dictating policy, few American drivers, dismal ratings, and coming soon, road and maybe street courses. >From an IRL point of view, I guess those are "original" thoughts". BWWWAAAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! -Sterling
